Treat them like family

I was exposed in a dental clinic environment at a young age. When I was still young my everyday routine would be in our home then school then dental clinic. This has been my life since one of my parents is a licensed dentist. I always have my personal dentist on call—she’s my mom.

As I grew older, I got the chance to observe directly how she relates to her patients.  And I discovered why many patients come back and there are also referrals through the word of mouth from patients that were treated.

You have to take care of patients just like how you would take care of your family. You have to treat them like your own parent, siblings and child. When I have older patients, I used to called them Tatay or Nanay. For the young ones, I called them bunso as a form of endearment.  Everyone deserves the same concern and empathy.  And, patients usually love their doctor who will treat them right. As I mature, I realized that patients don’t based the doctor that they trust on the doctor’s physical character and on what school that doctor graduated from. Patients appreciate on how you relate with others. I think this treatment is applicable in any form of business, not just in a clinic and hospital setup.

Now that I am also a dentist, I always aspire to do the same – that every patient God entrusts to me, I must take care of them like a family.

Thank you for reading! Blessings for you and your family. I hope we all get the future we always pray for. 🙏

Love lots, A 💕
